Louise Guenter, a Belgian soprano, took up private voice lessons with Sandra Zeltzer rather coincidentally in 2015 during her Classics studies at the Sorbonne IV University in Paris. Hardly two years after her very first voice lesson, Louise was accepted to KASK&Conservatorium School of Arts Gent, where she graduated in 2020 in the class of Marcos Pujol. Louise then obtained her Diplôme supérieur d’exécution with Daniel Ottevaere at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot in 2022. Since September ‘22, Louise has continued her studies at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where she was accepted to study with Anna Samuil. Louise attended masterclasses with Edda Moser, Valerie Girard, Anna Samuil, Ulrike Sonntag, Daniel Ottevaere and Christianne Stotijn. She has performed the roles of Suor Angelica in Puccini’s Suor Angelica (A. Gabriëls, mus. dir. K. Hendrickson), Romilda in Handel’s Serse (B. De Leersnyder, mus.dir. F. Heyerick) and Helene in Hindemith’s Hin und Zurück (M.Bogaert, mus.dir. W. Vande Ginste) in the productions of KASK&Conservatorium School of Arts Gent. In October ‘22, Louise performed the role of Concepcion in L’Heure espagnole (Ravel) in the production of the Hanns Eisler school in Berlin (R. Rota, mus.dir. B. Knutson/M. Iezzi) and in May ‘23, she will interpret Dido in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell) with Leuvens Universitair Koor in Belgium (mus.dir. K. Hendrickx) Louise received the third prize in the 8th International Competition Triomphe de l’Art 2022 in Brussels and the second prize at the Verão Classico festival & academy 2022 in Lisbon. Furthermore, she sang concerts in Belgium (with the Sonoro Quartet a.o.), Italy, France and Portugal. During her studies in Gent, Louise was a member of the MM Academy of La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels.
